What type of majors can you go into to become a registered dietitian?

What type of majors can you go into to become a registered dietitian?
I am currently a sophomore in high school and I am thinking about becoming a Dietician. I have researched some colleges with this major but I am not really finding any luck. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana and I was looking for a small college with this particular major. So far the only two I have found that I am really interested in are University of Cincinnati or maybe Purdue. (but its a big school) I have also found some good colleges that DO NOT have dietetics, but have majors either "Nutrition," or "Food Science." If I majored in one of those could I still become an RD? And If you know of any good small colleges close to Indiana with any of these majors that would help me alot! Thanks! : )

Miami University is relatively small, and they have a dietetics program. It is about an hour closer to Indianapolis than UC is. This link will take you to the description of the major: http://www.miami.muohio.edu/academics/majorsminors/majors/dietetics.cfm As for the other majors, it depends. Nutrition is likely just another name for the same major. Food science would not be a path to becoming an RD. It is actually more of a specialized engineering degree, and you would focus on actual food production and things like that. For both the nutrition and dietetics majors you must check that it is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Dietetics Education.

Cosplay help? (Again)?

Cosplay help? (Again)?
It seems like I've been asking a lot of questions about this stuff... oh well. Anyway, I was really late in the boat to go to my very first anime convention. I've already started planning out my cosplay. The only thing is... I don't know what to do. I have three (maybe four) characters I've narrowed it down to: Deidara from Naruto, L from Death Note (of course XD), Ritsuka from Loveless, or Itachi from Naruto. I'm not very sure about the Itachi cosplay, even though I love him to death. If I do a Naruto one, it's most likely going to be Deidara. But I've started thinking about doing Ritsuka, and right now, I really want to cosplay him. I've found a wig that looks pretty good, but I have no idea what outfit I would use for him. I want to do the school uniform, but I would have to have my friend make it for me, and it seemed easy enough. But since it's in two months from yesterday, I'm really nervous about the time and stuff. I would have to order the wig really soon, or else it won't get here on time, and I can't be 100% sure about the outfit until it's done. So I was wondering if I should risk it with Ritsuka, or take the easy way and do L, because I have the outfit, all I would need is the wig, which I found a pretty good one. And sorry that was so freaking long, but since this is my first anime convention ever, I'm really excited and want this to be as good as possible. And also, I was wondering how being the same person two or the full three days would be. I didn't know if I should do that or just cosplay for one day, since I can really only afford one costume. I'm really scared about ordering an outfit from Ebay, so I immediately crossed that option out. I'm probably overthinking this, but it's my first one ever... BQ: What was your first cosplay (if you have, that is) and what is your favorite memory with that cosplay? Oh! And the con is Anime Crossroads in Indianapolis, Indiana, from November 20-22. If by any chance anyone is going, you should so tell me. XD (Wow, this is really long... I'm sorry! DX) Wang Yao: I wanted to be Italy from Hetalia, but my friend claimed him as her bishie, so he's off limits. XD I was sad...

L is boring, if your going to go, go big or go home.

2
You should Try L, My friend did him for NDK here in Denver, but you could try Itachi. But L is the easiest, and good for a first timer

3
if you want to buy cosplay stuff you can go to cosplay magic prices usually range from 100-200 dollars though

4
I wouldn't suggest going as L as easy as it is, EVERYONE does it. It's considered noobish... Naruto is another one I wouldn't suggest, the hard core anime fans are likely to criticize your taste in anime. Loveless... I've heard of it, but never watched/read it. But I suppose I'd go with that one. My first cosplay was Nanao Ise from Bleach. 2nd was China from Hetalia 3rd was Kaname Kuran from Vampire Knight and the one I'm trying to get is Hungary from Hetalia. eeetoooo.... I'd try these sites for cosplay: hellocosplay.com milanoo.com cosplayfu.com cosplaymagic.com mooncostumes.com (course if you're good at sewing you could do it yourself) and don't be too afraid of ebay. There are some cosplay sites that are reliable and sell through ebay. That's where I'm getting my Hungary cosplay from. GOOD LUCK :) hope I helped!

5
you should go as deidara XD his cosplay is just a wig and cloak so ya... and you could stick your arms inside the cloak and pretend they are gone XP lol "death by suffocation!" bq: for my first cosplay i was larxene from organization XIII :P it was fun, cuz i had 5 other friends going as zexion, demyx, sora, roxas, and axel. my fave memory was the glomp game i played with a group of cosplayers :P and lots of people randomly came up from behind me and poked the antenna thingson my wig to see how they stuck up :P

6
I'd suggest against L. He's so overdone it's not even funny... Also, if you had said Naruto characters about a year ago, I would have recommended against those as well, but Naruto's been beaten out by Kuroshitsuji, Deathnote, and Hetalia recently, so I've seen a dramatic drop in Naruto cosplayers. So yeah. Go ahead and cosplay from Naruto. ^^ Also, ebay isn't that bad a site for cosplays. I buy all my wigs and outfits that I don't have the skills to make myself off there. I cosplay Soubi and bought my wig and jacket from ebay: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2kabhUGSfmU Also, my Ritsuka got her ears off ebay (also her original tail, but she made the one you see in this movie). http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Nkp8xtUogm4 The top she made by gluing/sewing ribbon to a sweater she bought at goodwill. It looks really amazing. She also made the green shirt Ritsuka wears in episode 4, I believe, out of a shirt from goodwill that she cut up a little, and some red ribbon. http://www.cosplay.com/photo/1608083/ (just giving you a few ideas here, since you mentioned wanting to cosplay him XP) As for the Naruto cosplays, I suggest ordering here: http://www.animeniacs.com/index.php?action=catalog&search=Akatsaki (yeah, they spell it wrong. There are a lot of typos on the site) They carry the cheapest, good quality cosplays I've ever seen. Plus they're even further on sale because they're trying to clear out stock and make it a special-order service offered in-store only. In all, I recommend going for one of the two Naruto cosplays or Ritsuka. ^^ As for outfits, there's no rule saying you can't be the same thing all three days. I have friends who do that. It's honestly a lot easier than hauling around 3-6 cosplays like I do... If you're worried about being stinky, just shower everyday, wear lots of deodorant (and apply more later in the day) and febreeze the outfit before bed. Try to avoid perfumes and such, since many people are allergic to them. Email me if you have any more questions on cosplay. ^^ BQ: My first cosplay was Muraki Kazutaka from Yami no Matsuei. I have many, many great memories in this costume, but the one that stands out most was when two fangirls came up to me while I was ordering dinner and asked if they could get a picture of Muraki buying a burrito. It made my day... Also, I think a friend of mine (also into Naruto and Loveless XD) is going to that one, but I can't remember for sure where she lives... Pretty sure it's Indiana... If so, then that's the con she's going to. ^^ Edit: Another good Muraki cosplay memory just came to me! I was in an alternate outfit of his and hanging out with a guy dressed in his normal outfit when I saw a Dist walk by. I glanced at the other Muraki and asked "so... shall we make the coalition of fruity, white haired villains?" Resulting pic: https://www.t-mobilepictures.com/myalbum/photos/photo16/22/a1/2af79a0a6826__1253031504000.jpg That was the same day I also hung out with a rather large Hetalia group and claimed all their vital regions. >:3 God I love cosplaying Muraki...

7
DONT GO AS L so many people go as l or bb and it gets boring if you want to do a death note cosplay try mello and i like the deidara idea since its easy and most naruto cosplayers dont go as him from what i know

8
I think that something similar to this http://fc00.deviantart.com/fs31/f/2008/194/3/5/Cosplay_Ritsuka_Aoyagi_by_BunnyMayel.jpg You def. can't forget about the bandaid under your eye and the wrist wraps are a good touch. Hope I could help!

His first album named Souljaboytellem.com was released under Interscope Records on October 2, 2007.[4]

What is the best way to teach religious tolerance & freedom to other countries?
If children learn what they live, who is their major role model and influence in learning religious tolerance? Where can I find accurate statistics of how many Muslims, Christians, Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, and so on that reside n the USA? .In the world? Do you think that most people in America do not know the origins of other religions or simply do not care? What kind of reaction would Americans have if there was a publicized burning of Bibles or Torahs in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq? Found on Wikipedia" - Muslims regard the Qur’an as the main miracle of Muhammad, as proof of his prophethood,[11] and as the culmination of a series of divine messages. These started, according to Islamic belief, with the messages revealed to Adam, regarded in Islam as the first prophet, and continued with the Suhuf Ibrahim (Scrolls of Abraham),[12] the Tawrat (Torah or Pentateuch) of Moses,[13][14] the Zabur (Tehillim or Book of Psalms) of David,[15][16] and the Injil (Gospel) of Jesus.[17][18][19] The Qur'an assumes familiarity with major narratives recounted in Jewish and Christian scriptures, summarizing some, dwelling at length on others, and, in some cases, presenting alternative accounts and interpretations of events.[20][21][22] The Qur'an describes itself as a book of guidance, sometimes offering detailed accounts of specific historical events, and often emphasizing the moral significance of an event over its narrative sequence.[23][24] What school that you know of teaches peace? We have to get rid of all the dumb rednecks first!

How about we knave other countries alone, and focus on fixing the broken one we live in. Everybody hates everybody here. We are falling apart at the seams. Why does everyone turn the blind eye to what's going on in their backyard to help people they don't even know, will never meet and probably don't care all that much about? How about we start helping our neighbors, communities, bringing the government back into check and let other countries deal with their own problems.

We need to make so many things mandatory in the education of our children. Religious and racial tolerance, respecting others, respecting nature and animals, open-mindedness...

As suggested in answer to an earlier question: The very best way to teach religious tolerance is to refrain from indoctrinating children with religion. In most countries such a policy can be expected to be met with fierce resistance by religious fundamentalists. Once the childhood indoctrination process is complete a balanced perspective on other religions is virtually impossible. The best that might be achieved in these circumstances is exposure of the general population to unfettered education. Once again one can expect vitriolic resistance from any religious sect that has managed to establish itself in a position of power and control through fear. Open access to information should be the goal. Education deserves a much higher priority than detonation. Billions spent on weapons would be better invested in improving rational information dissemination.

Can You Help With Questions About A Car Accident?

Can You Help With Questions About A Car Accident?
My daughter was hit from behind while driving her 07 yaris. Her vehicle was pushed approx. 38 ft. then hit a 9 in. curb with both front wheels & then traveled 6 more ft. & hit a fire hydrant. The hydrant is anchored 6 ft. deep so there was no 'give' when her car hit into it. The woman must have been traveling approx. 40 to 45 mph & the speed limit there is 30 mph. Our daughter was taken to the hospital that day & also 2 more times. Not only had she been in pain but started having panic attacks. She also became afraid to drive her car. Our son was taking her to her classes but he told her she had to 'make' herself drive because he couldn't keep taking her due to his school schedule. Our daughter still is seeing a doctor & on medication to try to help these attacks which the doctor diagnosed as Post Tramatic Stress Disorder. Our daughter is still experiencing to some degree these panic attacks but is trying terribly hard to 'get a grip' on this demon. Now she is also having her beautiful hair come out in chunks. I am trying to get bills covered by the other drivers ins. but I need to know should I also tell the other ins. company that our daughter is entitled to compansation for her pain & suffering? She is only 20, had always been active & bubbly & now seems so totally different. Can I handle this & tell the ins. company an amount our daughter will settle for besides all bills paid? Our daughter is under so much stress that she doesn't want to deal with this & begins to have rapid heartbeats & feels like she is going to die. How much should I ask the ins. company for just for our daughter besides the hospital & doctors bills paid. Can anyone give me an amount? Our daughter has already had all test incl. seeing a cardiologist. So what she is dealing with now are these panic attacks. I would like to take care of this without an attorney because our daughter just needs this behind her. We live in Indianapolis, Indiana. Thanks!

You may need to get an attorney on this... try to get some type of structured settlement for this so that the bills for the future can be covered. Most insurance companies like to settle and try to get it over with, too. But one never knows. Good luck and I am sorry to hear about her PTSD. == EDIT: If you do get a structured settlement on this (which requires a lawyer) you should structure it so you get cost of living adjustments and try to get lump sums for future costs, too, if possible. More importantly, do not ever factor it out once you get it... (see your settlement for a percentage of what your future payments would have been for today) So, make sure you have a financial advisor for it. Because most people do not know how to manage large sums of cash. I know, I work for an insurance company.

2
Pain and suffering money is part of the settlement deal. You are entitled to it, so ask for it. Never sign a release until you get what you think is fair.

3
are you crazy? you need to get a great lawyer. There are lawyers that will beg to take this case and they will get a lot more out of the ins company then you ever will.

4
I think that because you have a very good case, and if the police report says that it wasn't your daughters fault, you SHOULD consult an attorney. It's true that they'll take 1/3 of the money, but they can also ask for more money and you just leave everything to them. The consultation is always free. I don't like to deal with attorneys myself, but in some cases you have to. Also the other driver might turn around and sue you! Good luck.

5
joie, there are several issues you need to look at. First, dependent on where you live (not sure about Indiana law), you may have "no fault" insurance which typically pays for medical expenses up to a certain amount before you would seek payment from the other party's insurer. Second, you have to determine if the other person even has insurance, and if so, what the limits are. Third, you need to look at your own insurance policy to see if you have UM/UIM coverage and may be able to collect additional payment there.

6
Your insurance is going to try and pay out as little as possible. You might want to get a personal injury lawyer (not the cash-cow types with cheesy commercials) so that you can get the maximum amount possible. It might be limited to the guilty parties liability coverage.

7
get a good lawyer and get the person who hit her car from behind to pay for bills and this will also help u cause he will have to pay an extra amount that u can keep and try to get help for ur daughter

8
You should consult a local accident attorney. They will take this case on a contingency, which means that they take a percentage of the recovery. If you get nothing, they get nothing. It sounds like a good case. Liability is a slam dunk and damages are the only issue.

9
First as posted above sign off on nothing at this point; now while a lawyer may seem to cost more if they can obtain a larger settlement it may off set, that said If you like through out a number to the insurance company and see what number they come back with Just remember stress issues are very hard to define and diagnosis for insurance agency in relation to payout, so you may be shocked at the number the insurance company comes back with. If you do not like the number seek a free legal consultation on your case

10
I am so sorry for your daughter. I have felt like her since I had a heart attack. I hate to deal with lawyers, but they can look out for your daughters best interest. To be honest the lawyer will want to know what are the damage's to your daughter, and if there is enough to pursue a suit.

upscale suburban neighborhoods?

upscale suburban neighborhoods?
I'm looking for upscale, richy suburban neighborhoods and community near urban cities. Such asGreat Bear in Bushkill, Pennsylvania;Carmel in Indianapolis, Indiana; and Wellesley in Boston, Massachusetts. If you could give me a few more of these types od place it will be greatly appreicated. Me and my husband are newly weds and are fairly wealty. We do plan on having a few children so I would like the area to also have a good school district. I'd also like the area to be fairly "new". Ooh and one more thing we have 2 dogs so we would love to have a backyard so they could play and run around. If anyone could help us it'll be greatly appreciated!!Please and thank-you.

Call a Realtor. This is the kind of thing they do for a living. It would probably help if you could at least narrow down what state you want to live in before you start looking for a house. And have you considered where you and your husband are going to be working? Or do you just assume that once you find your house in your "upscale richy neighborhood", there'll automatically be two jobs there waiting for you? Because in the real world, it doesn't usually work that way. It's usually find job first, find house second.

What is something that you carry that makes you feel better.?
Alright, so... I've been feeling down lately, not for any particular reason just a down part of the season for me. It is so dark and Dingy here in Indianapolis, Indiana... It's been very cold and today was the only remote clear day for the past week. I need something that when I leave home to go somewhere whether it be work or school I will have something that will cheer me up. Something small that can fit into a pocket and it ( Or atleast I don't want it to run off of ) Electricity because it may zap me I mean if it is a good item sure I'll use it.. But can you refer me to a site that would sell something or things like little nik-naks I can carry around... I want something that I can think hey I'll be fine and I'll be home in no time. I will be leaving for London soon for a trip and I need something that I can pull out when I am feeling down from my trip. When I leave home alone I don't do well at all... I am the person who hates leaving home but loves to travel it's a win lose thing

Why don't you buy a nice ring? This way, you will always have it with you and when you feel a bit lonely for home, you can touch it, reassure yourself, and nobody else will ever know. My talisman is a diamond heart pendant, which my husband gave me for Christmas, many years ago. I only take it off for x-rays, MRI's, mammograms or surgery. I'm sure whatever you choose will serve you well. Good luck!!

[IF] If you can keep your head when all about you Are losing theirs and blaming it on you, If you can trust yourself when all men doubt you But make allowance for their doubting too, If you can wait and not be tired by waiting, Or being lied about, don't deal in lies, Or being hated, don't give way to hating, And yet don't look too good, nor talk too wise: If you can dream--and not make dreams your master, If you can think--and not make thoughts your aim; If you can meet with Triumph and Disaster And treat those two impostors just the same; If you can bear to hear the truth you've spoken Twisted by knaves to make a trap for fools, Or watch the things you gave your life to, broken, And stoop and build 'em up with worn-out tools: If you can make one heap of all your winnings And risk it all on one turn of pitch-and-toss, And lose, and start again at your beginnings And never breath a word about your loss; If you can force your heart and nerve and sinew To serve your turn long after they are gone, And so hold on when there is nothing in you Except the Will which says to them: "Hold on!" If you can talk with crowds and keep your virtue, Or walk with kings--nor lose the common touch, If neither foes nor loving friends can hurt you; If all men count with you, but none too much, If you can fill the unforgiving minute With sixty seconds' worth of distance run, Yours is the Earth and everything that's in it, And--which is more--you'll be a Man, my son! --Rudyard Kipling

I carry Greek worry beads. It is a strand of beads that is in a circle like a bracelet, and when you worry or are stressed out you are supposed to move the beads back and forth while thinking of things that you love or make you happy. After doing it a time or two you forget what you were worried about =)

Check out some of my ‘best answers’, my worst ones too. I am a human capitol consultant. I have been in the field for 5 years. Hmm maybe. Cuz I suffer from the "I don't know what I want but I know it's not this" syndrome! :) But I'm not really interested.

I'm a bit confused. What help do you need exactly? Somebody with a Yahoo ID called Chefy was asking for career advice on Yahoo Answers a few days ago. Perhaps you could try and get in touch. The Question is also under General-Careers & Employment.

Moving to Indiana... Location suggestions?

Moving to Indiana... Location suggestions?
We are moving to Indianapolis (or close to) in November of this year. My husband is going to attend IUPUI in the Winter. We currently live in downtown Seattle and are wondering what the comparison is. I am not sure where would be a good place to start looking. We make $150000 a year and we have a three year old. We want to make sure we are in a safe neighborhood with good school, lots of recreation and not sure how much we are looking at. Trying to budget. I really appreciate your help as am blindly looking at an unfamiliar map... LOL Thanks again!

Note - I'm VERY blunt but truthful. so here we go Downtown Indy and anywhere withing 4 to 5 miles from Monument Circle, with is the geographic center of the city - You get what you pay for. Most of downtown is gentrified and white and therefore expensive. Medium to high crime. Just outside of downtown are some of the worst neighborhoods in the city, Haughville(west - black), Brightwood(north-black), Little Mexico (east-hispanic), Mars-Tucky(south-white) Simply terrible neighborhoods. Avoid at all costs. Just being honest. NW side - Eagle Creek/Pike Township is nice, but expensive. Racially mixed but mainly white. Low to Medium crime. Eagle creek reservoir is perhaps the nice park in the city. Easy access to Northside shopping, witch is best in city. Schools are average to good. Zionsville is nice but very VERY expensive. North side - The meridian street corridor is full of very nice homes. North Side/Carmel is perhaps the nicest rich area in the city to live, but very VERY expensive. Best shopping in the whole city along the 86th street corridor. Schools are excellent, but packed. Very high traffic, the worst in the city. Low to Medium crime. High property taxes. NE side - Lawrence/Pendelton Pike corridor used to be nice, but black people have turned it into a high crime area. Avoid this area. Geist Reservoir and surrounding area is very VERY nice and has perhaps the best schools in the whole county, but its VERY VERY expensive. Easy access to North side shopping. Low crime in Geist, very High in Lawrence. High traffic. East side - Irvington/Warren Park is historic, racially mixed working class area. High crime. Below average schools. The further east you go, the nicer it gets. Washington square mall and area is ok shopping, but the north side is a short interstate hop away. You can do better, in my opinion. SE side - Semi rural area. You will see cornfields.95% white and therefore, very low crime and good schools. Lots of ranch style homes, low traffic, perhaps the least populated area of the city. You want room? Here is the place to live. South Side - My home, so I'm biased. In my opinion, the best place to live for the money in the city. 90% white, so low crime and average to nice homes. Low traffic, can get busy at rush hour, but its not too bad. Easily the best home value for your dollar in the whole city, bar none. Road/interstate system allows easy access to the whole city. Garfield Park is a very nice family park. Average to Good schools. Greenwood Park Mall area has the 2nd best shopping in the whole city. Greenwood is a nice area, middle class working area, most white, crime can be spotty but basically low. SW side - Just like the SE side of town, but its a little more of an industrial area, but pretty much the same as SW side of town. Typically, like the SE side of town, you don't hear much about this area of town. West side - Speedway used to be white, but once again, minorities have pushed in and the area is turning into crap. Like east side the further out you go, the nicer the area. Easily the worst shopping in the whole city, The mall's/area name is Lafayette Scare, and it earns that name for a reason. High crime. Poor schools. Airport is on this side of town, so you will hear planes.Further west you have Avon/Plainfield witch is most white middle class. Like east side, you can do better. Final Note - IUPUI is downtown and you can get downtown from anywhere in the city in 30 minutes or less even during rush hour. Parking sucks big time at IUPUI, just a warning. Welcome to Indy.

i live in a lovely neighborhood that has alot of nice people from my point of view and alot of people are moving but the neighborhood is nice and quiet. indianapolis, indiana throughbread acres and its right next to a elementry school which is the one i went to. also im in pike township

Wow, I like the blunt response equating "all white" with "low crime." I live downtown and would not live anywhere else, but I also do not have children so do not know about the schools (all the schools in Indianapolis seem to get complaints). There are parks and fun things to do downtown (such as the canal -- kids love it).

To All the ARTISTS in the RHH section...How are things going your way musically?
I know we have some VERY TALENTED individuals on this site. So tell us all how things are going for you in your hometown. Are you selling out local bars and clubs?....Are you participating in underground club battles....do you perform at High School Talent shows?.....Do you poets do any spoken words at jazz spots? Some of you who answer these questions write very well, are you writing for a school paper?.... Anything...if your doing it...let the RHH community know..... I myself perform regionally in the Indianapolis, Indiana area. If your familiar with the area you can catch a show at Have A Nice Day Cafe, Club Spin, among other venues. I am also a well known producer in the area...and I organize a hip hop class for the youth in the west suburb....How about you? LAZARUS....after all the love....lol...you call me out like that....we can make sumthing real quick....I mean ...I step away from lunch...and this is what I get....disrespected like that...I know I'm a newbie....but damn fam...I dont even battle but you aint about to call me out...Lets GO!!!!!!....lol Right on Fam..... Oh and I will slay you any day beautiful! If that's how you battle man I gotta call it wack! even if a train was comin I wouldn't put you on a track. cause you got no flow I know you don't flow. you couldn't get a gal inside your studio. You claim you're up in it but dog we all know. a studio apartment is where you really go. so next time you claim that your the king.... make sure it's something worth spittin' that you bring.

Me and my group are local as well (Florida) We do the occasional Clubs and what not, but right now we are having a major set back since our producer had a heart attack so things have been kinda tough, but latley we have been competiting in local and state rap battles. so things are pretty good.

I did go to a high school poetry slam and won third place with my piece. I am a member on a hip hop forum and that's enough for me. Met some chill cats on that site... Influenced me to start MC-ing and producing (i JUST started january second) The best MC-ing i've done so far is for my english genocide unit- a song I wrote and recorded myself (link: http://www.youtube.com/profile?user=SoulPoet3) My beat-making link is www.soundclick.com/djnextgeneration And I just started writing for a start-up hip hop magazine in my area. It's online till we get funds. and... just to appease my friends, i sometimes do rap battles with them, even though I hear stuff like "you're bad/ i'm better than rad/ you're not good/ i am very hood" coming at me. :D but i actually held the championship for text battling for about a month

Tryna get nice with this MPC in my spare time...but hopefully I will be able to work my way into the studio again...This time not as a on looker but as the producer...lol

Wow, that's a pretty tough situation you have on your shoulders. I hope you don't think it's your fault their breaking up. Couples break up all the time, but they can also stay good friends. I would think that your mom's boyfriend would be supportive and help out until your mom gets things together. If he doesn't do that then I would most definitely move back to Indiana because you never know, your old friends might remember you and it's always lovely to be close to family. I really hope things work out for you, your brothers, and your mom. *Best of luck*

if all of you want to stay in seattle. there are ways! depends how close you all are and don't hold your pride too high.there is help out there. church, state and maybe your mom may need to get a 2nd job. but just know that anything can happen if you want it bad enough. and don't let pride get in your way.

Can you give me any information on the quality of life in Indianapolis (zip code 46260 area)?

Can you give me any information on the quality of life in Indianapolis (zip code 46260 area)?
Hi, there. My husband and I are considering relocating to Indianapolis (46260 area) from Tallahassee, FL. My stepson has recently gone to live with his mother there, hence the attraction. He appears to be enjoying the school, neighbors, etc., and we have visited once. All I really saw was a few overpasses as we got off the interstate and then her apartment complex. From what little I did see, I was not impressed with the area where she lives in particular. I felt unsafe just getting out of my car in the parking lot. There were lots of young men hanging around with nothing to do. I realize Indianapolis is a lot bigger than Tallahassee by far in population and land area. The size of Indianapolis seems daunting to me compared to what we are used to. Additionally, we have never even seen snow, much less had to drive in it. My son has not had his first winter there, yet, so even he does not know what to expect yet. Any suggestions, comments you can make about that area of Indy, etc. are welcome. We are concerned about the usual - safety, employment options, etc. My husband and I are both bilingual (English/Spanish). I currently work in Florida Pre-K and am finishing my degree for elementary education this year. I don't know how to even go about getting teacher certification in Indiana. My husband works construction and worries about how much work would be available during the winter months. We are still debating about making the move up there because it is so different. Thank you for your input. Best Wishes, Carren

Indianapolis is a big place. It also has a lot of crime. Most newer additions just outside of Indianapolis are really nice. Greenwood would be a place I'd recommend. Bloomington is a nice, beautiful, college town just 45 minutes south of Indianapolis. Construction is booming and a bi-lingual could get a job at the hospital and/ or school system without a doubt. We also have a very nice Ivy Tech School here which usually has a full-house of students. Indiana does have snow...sometimes a lot, sometimes hardly any. We have the kind of equipment that usually keeps up with it making our roadways safe to drive. Eleven miles south of Bloomington is a large Monroe Lake if you like water sports, a beach, boating, or fishing. We have brand new Rails to Trails for walking, jogging, or biking. We have all the options of Broadway Plays, Entertainers, and Sports because of Indiana University, a lovely campus. John Mellencamp lives here too. Give Bloomington a try before you decide.

Indianapolis is great! There is so much to do here, and personally I wouldn't want to live anywhere else. I checked out the zip code you gave (46260), and it looks to be in a really good area, just south of Carmel and Zionsville on the north side. While I do personally live on the south side, I have relatives and friends who live up there and I myself have visited and it really is a great place to live. Getting a job should be no problem at all for either construction or teaching, as both jobs are fruitful in Indy, and the fact that you personally are bilingual will make you an even better target for employment considering the rising amount of Hispanic and Spanish-speakers living in the area. We have a great governor, Mitch Daniels, who in light of the recent recession has kept our unemployment rates fairly low compared to the rest of the nation. As for snow, haha, I figure that would be more of an exciting thing than a frightening one, as the efficiency of our "plowers" is so good you could have a 12-inch snow in the night and have the roads cleared by sunrise! :] Good luck with your house hunting and I hope I could help.

If you want to be a teacher, do not go with public school system, they're cutting back. See, they just build a shiny new stadium for the colts football and now don't know how to pay for it and can't get more $ from the colts. So, trickle down to school jobs... South side is nice ( 46227) northside (46250) alot more zips than that though. No matter where you live like anywhere, crime can travel.

i live in 46038 (fishers) and i love it here. everything is less then 10 minuets away. HSE has some of the best schools in America and is always hiring for the ever expanding school system. its a great environment, no real bad crime, and tons of fun activities year round. I would definitely try to check out Hamilton county, the best in all of Indiana.
