Where can I find accurate statistics of how many Muslims, Christians, Catholics, Jews, Buddhists, and so on that reside n the USA? .In the world? Do you think that most people in America do not know the origins of other religions or simply do not care? What kind of reaction would Americans have if there was a publicized burning of Bibles or Torahs in Afghanistan, Pakistan or Iraq? Found on Wikipedia" - Muslims regard the QurĂ¢€™an as the main miracle of Muhammad, as proof of his prophethood,[11] and as the culmination of a series of divine messages. These started, according to Islamic belief, with the messages revealed to Adam, regarded in Islam as the first prophet, and continued with the Suhuf Ibrahim (Scrolls of Abraham),[12] the Tawrat (Torah or Pentateuch) of Moses,[13][14] the Zabur (Tehillim or Book of Psalms) of David,[15][16] and the Injil (Gospel) of Jesus.[17][18][19] The Qur'an assumes familiarity with major narratives recounted in Jewish and Christian scriptures, summarizing some, dwelling at length on others, and, in some cases, presenting alternative accounts and interpretations of events.[20][21][22] The Qur'an describes itself as a book of guidance, sometimes offering detailed accounts of specific historical events, and often emphasizing the moral significance of an event over its narrative sequence.[23][24] What school that you know of teaches peace? How about we knave other countries alone, and focus on fixing the broken one we live in. Everybody hates everybody here. We are falling apart at the seams. Why does everyone turn the blind eye to what's going on in their backyard to help people they don't even know, will never meet and probably don't care all that much about? How about we start helping our neighbors, communities, bringing the government back into check and let other countries deal with their own problems.

As suggested in answer to an earlier question: The very best way to teach religious tolerance is to refrain from indoctrinating children with religion. In most countries such a policy can be expected to be met with fierce resistance by religious fundamentalists. Once the childhood indoctrination process is complete a balanced perspective on other religions is virtually impossible. The best that might be achieved in these circumstances is exposure of the general population to unfettered education. Once again one can expect vitriolic resistance from any religious sect that has managed to establish itself in a position of power and control through fear. Open access to information should be the goal. Education deserves a much higher priority than detonation. Billions spent on weapons would be better invested in improving rational information dissemination.
