wow mecca of basketball yup they are rite thats why the Pacers are about to leave, have one of the worst attendances in the NBA & n no indiana school has won the Final Four Championship in 23 years!!!!!!!

Where can I live around Indianapolis, IN where I can have at least 4 dogs and good schools for my kids?
Where can I live around Indianapolis, IN where I can have at least 4 dogs and good schools for my kids?
My family is looking to move somewhere around Indianapolis, IN. We have 4 kids and 4 dogs. We are looking for somewhere where there is good schools and yet able to have all of our dogs and some space (house size and lot)? Not sure what the licensing allows for in Indiana, but we do have 4 dogs (3 are under 20 pounds, then 1 lab). What would you recommend?

I'm not sure Indianapolis sets numerical limits on the number of dogs you can have. They have to have rabies shots and IDs, either microchips or tags, they can't run loose and you have to clean up after them if they poop off your property. I don't think Indianapolis has a license requirement anymore. Within Marion County, Lawrence and Washington Township schools are pretty good. Outside of Marion County, the dog laws will be different. Fishers, Carmel, Noblesville, Zionsville, are popular suburbs on the north side. New Palestine, Greenfield, Greenwood, Avon, Brownsburg, Plainfield, etc. are other suburbs worthy of consideration.

My family and I have 8 dogs (only 2 are remotely small) and we live in Shelby county, which is about 45 minutes away from Indy. There is tons of farmland close to Indianapolis, (and all over the state) so really, just check into the schools! RECOMMENDATION: Do NOT live in Shelby co. Shelbyville High School was ranked #1 High School drop outs in the country a few years back and the rest of the schools in the district are not any better. haha Good luck!

Residency Status for IUPUI ( Indiana state university) HELP!!?
Ok, so I started attending IUPUI this fall in August of 2007, which is in Indianapolis Indiana. I took about apretty big loan to attend here. I am a transfer student as well from Florida. I really need to get residency this upcoming fall of 2008. In the state of Indiana to get a state run school residency status you must do the following two things: Live in the state of Indiana for the past 12 months and prove your main purpose of living in Indiana is not for education. So the first one I have, because I moved up here in August before classes begun, I live in the campus aparments. Now it is the other part that is very tricky and I cannot get a solid repsonse whne I have asked the school exactly how do I prove or what counts for makeing the requirement for proving education is not the main purpose of comign to Indiana. My main purpose was for personl reasons, like leaving a very abusive relationship and starting fresh at a new school. Some states ask for you to live there 12 months.

Did you get a job when you got there? Then list "employment" as your reason for relocation. If not, you could say you were laid off in Florida and looking fo rwork in Indiana, or that you came to be closer to family. And good for you to start out fresh!! YOU CAN DO THIS!! Good luck....

When I changed my residency status for graduate school, I didn't have to provide any documentation that I was there for education. As a matter of fact, we didn't move to our current state for me to get an education, it was for my partner's job and I decided to go to graduate school as well. I had to provide a copy of my driver's license, car registration, voter registration etc. All of those things that prove you live somewhere. Talk to your financial aid or registrar's office. Make an appointment and go in and meet with them. Ask what you need to do, usually there is a form to fill out. Ask if there is any additional information you need to give them in order to have your request approved. Once you have all the forms filled out and any documentation necessary, make another appointment with them to have them look at your forms etc. That way you can make sure that you have everything filled out correctly. You may go into the fall semester of next year as an out of state student while they are still making adjustments. That's what happened to me and I ended up getting the additional tuition refunded. A friend of mine made the assumption she would be switched after a year in her masters degree, and that assumption cost her a ton in extra student loans. If it were me, (and remember I'm not anyone particularly important) I would question the fact that you were in "student" housing, would want to see proof you were fleeting for your life and had to leave the state, maybe restraining orders from the ex or police reports or some proof you had to be sent out of state. Also your age has a lot do do with state residency as well. If you are under 21 and not married some schools make it impossible. Good luck.

I live close to Indianapolis and am going to school to become a RN. I want to go ahead and get my foot in the door with the health care profession but I don't know how to go about getting a CNA liscense without working at the place where they offer them.

Im 18 and im sueing the state of indiana. Between ages14-16 i was in indiana girls school, in indianapolis. My stay there was terrible, i was physically,sexually, and mentally abused. I was In Lock seculison. 24 7 for 7 months. I have proof of everything im saying. My roomate was a sexual predadtor. Tried to rape me . So question is if im suing them how much do you think i could win? I would like them to pay for all my past present and future counseling. Girls school insurance company has contacted me through mail and told me they were sending me a check through mail. Are they contacting me cuz they believe we have a good case ?

Girls school insurance company probably wants to pay you off, sweep it under the rug and pretend it never happened. You or your attorney have to decide how much money is enough. Don't let the school's insurance determine that.

If they girl's school is sending you a check and you cash it your are settling the case so be sure it's an amount you are happy with before you cash it or sent it back. Of course they think you have a case or theyw ouldn't be sending you money. Talk to a lawyer, they can help you more.

Do not cash that check, get with a lawyer and he will be able to help you get the most possible even if you have to go in front of a jury. THey are sending you a check for the lowest amount they think is fair. Do not take this or it is settled.

DON'T CASH THE CHECK AND DON'tc SIGN ANY PAPERS till you see a lawyer they will try to settle this out of court cuz they want you to be quiet . yes they know you got a good case and dont want the pudlic to know of this . this is not a insurence type case it is not like you just broke a leg . the mental and phisical anguish is irreversable not to mension your inberrassment you may need say at least 1 mill. caus you need cash .and lawyer all court cost .

im thinking of going to indiana university in indianapolis....?
im thinking of going to indiana university in indianapolis....?
i live in northern VA, near washing d.c. whats it like in indianapolis? the people? the weather? the town? the nightlife? the girls? is it up beat and fun? oh and the school, how's that too? is it mostly a commuter school? sorry, i meant washington... not washing

Indianapolis is mostly a nice quiet city. The downtown (which is very close to IUPUI) has a lot going on. Theater, museums, sports events (we have the Pacers and the Colts,. plus a minor league baseball team, all downtown). Another place where college students go for night life is Broad Ripple, on the east side on Indianapolis. There are 3 other small colleges in town: Butler Univ, Marian Univ, and University of Indianapolis, plus a two year community college, Ivytech. Indianapolis doesn't have a public transit service as good as the D.C. area has. The weather is not that different than D.C. Probably milder: not as hot and sticky in the summer, and not much cold weather or snow in the winter. I think you'll find that college students here are pretty nice and friendly. IUPUI is a real up and coming college. Lots of nice new buildings, lots of really good programs. However, the campus lacks the "identity" and beauty of a place like IU-Bloomington. Not much landscaping or many trees. It has been a commuter school, but now they're building more student housing, so it's gradually changing, but again, it's never going to have a distinctive campus atmosphere. Also, IUPUI has become a lot more competitive in admissions. It used to have the reputation as being kind of a last resort university, but that's definitely not true anymore. You should know that the campus includes the IU medical school, dental school, and law school, so there are lots of adults around. Should be a lot of nice girls, because they have a very large nursing program, other allied health programs, and a large education program. The basketball team, the Jaguars, have been quite successful in recent years.
